Guitar Beats

Every beat here is built on a guitar. Some parts I play myself, some I program, depending on what the beat needs.

When it is a full beat with drums, keys and synths, the guitar is usually electric and sits in among everything else. When it is acoustic, the guitar is the soul of the whole thing: raw and close, either a folk-leaning feel along the lines of XXXTentacion, or a sad and lonely one.

"painless" is the most played by a distance, and it is one I sampled from myself. I played a melody on the guitar, sang over it the way Shiloh Dynasty would, then flipped that recording into the beat. Across the set they suit rapping and singing about equally.

Recording tip: Sit close to the guitar rather than over it — these leave space for a quieter, more melodic take.
